How to Repair Microsoft Outlook Data/PST File

Multinational Companies use their own Mail Server for Sending and Receiving mails and communication with other clients. As a Employee of Company we use our Professional Mail ID with Microsoft Outlook account. But when suddenly we are working on outlook or composing a mail may be Computer Restarts or hang up cause to Virus or Power problem. After Rebooting Computer there is a chance to corrupt our Outlook Data (PST) file, that time we will not able to open Outlook and see our important mails. Then we need some technical help from IT Support team, but here I will tell you how to resolve this problem by repairing Data (PST) file. You can it by yourself.

Step 1

Close all application on your PC, it will slow repairing process. You need to know the location of corrupted PST file. For that go to Control panel by Clicking Start, Settings.

Step 2

At control panel click on MAIL. New window Mail setup Outlook will open. Click on Data files tab and select your PST file and click on Open. It will open a location of your PST file just remember the location or copy full path of PST file. Close all windows.

Step 3

Now go to C drive and open Program files folder. Then open Microsoft office folder. Here open folder Office12 (For office 2007), Office14 (For office 2010). Now open SCANPST.EXE file. This file is a utility tool of repairing PST file.

Step  4

From new window click on browse and select your outlook Data file. Click on open now click on start button to start a process of scanning for errors. It will take time depend upon errors on your PST file. Wait for it will finish scanning and shows Repair button, just click on it and wait completion of this process,  be patience it could be take more time depend upon size of PST file. When Repair is completed message will come just click on OK. Now try to open outlook it should be work fine.
